Summary
BESTEC BD LTD is looking for a Senior Merchandiser with extensive experience in the garments and buying house sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of merchandising, especially in knit and woven products, and demonstrate exceptional skills in supply chain management, product development, and market analysis. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle orders from different buyers independently and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities & Context
Merchandising and Order Management:
- Handle knit and woven merchandising, including seam sealing.
- Manage the entire order process from confirmation to shipment.
- Develop samples and coordinate with buyers and Quality Controllers (Q.C.).
Product and Market Knowledge:
- Possess strong knowledge of fabric, yarn, accessories, print, and embroidery.
- Understand current market trends and buyer psychology.
- Ensure product quality and innovation.
Supply Chain and Backward Linkage Management:
- Demonstrate expertise in supply chain and backward linkage management.
- Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing and costing/pricing.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare Order Confirmation Sheets (OCS), Bill of Materials (BOM) sheets, and Time Action Plans (T&A).
- Input and update required data in the company’s application system.
- Provide daily feedback and reports to overseas buyers’ offices.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Lead and work effectively within a team.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Work under pressure to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor/Honors degree required.
- Preference for candidates with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Technology.
Experience Requirements:
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in the garments or buying house sectors.
- Must have experience in merchandising for 100% export-oriented knit and woven products.
Additional Requirements:
- Age: 32 to 40 years.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
- Excellent email writing skills.
- Dynamic personality with great inter-communication skills.
