Job Summary

• Position: Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager (Safety)

Educational Requirements

• Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree from a recognized university, preferably in a science-related field.
• B.Sc. Engineers specializing in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with IEB membership are highly encouraged to apply.

Experience Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of practical experience in plant and workplace safety.
• Experience in the garment industry will be given preference.
• Knowledge of RSC, Nirapon, BNBC, NFPA, and other safety regulations is essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD design and drawing is required.
• Certifications such as NIOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 will be advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans that comply with local laws and industry regulations. Coordinate and communicate these policies and plans with factory heads and relevant departments.
2. Fire Safety Management: Oversee and manage fire safety management systems, including Fire Alarm and Detection System (FADS) and Fire Suppression System (SUPS). Regularly report to management on their status.
3. Safety Programs: Monitor and manage safety-related activities and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
4. Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop corrective and preventive action plans. Implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
5. Compliance: Provide necessary recommendations on fire-safety-related compliance issues from RSC/brand audits. Lead and monitor teams to remediate issues and implement preventive measures.
6. Training: Design and implement safety awareness training programs such as hazard recognition, safe work practices, use of PPE, and emergency response procedures for employees at all levels.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with managers, department heads, and stakeholders such as HR, compliance, operations, and legal teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the facility.
8. Regulatory Liaison: Maintain liaison with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant safety-related certificates, registrations, and regulations.
9. Incident Investigation: Conduct investigations into any fire-safety-related accidents and prepare detailed reports.
10. Safety Initiatives: Engage in safety committees, campaigns, and initiatives. Recognize individuals or teams for their contributions to safety.
11. Audit Handling: Independently handle safety audits and lead the fire safety team to achieve objectives. Ensure all team members perform their duties as required.
12. Documentation: Prepare and organize all fire safety, FADS, and SUPS-related documents for RSC and other brand audits.
13. Equipment Check: Regularly review and check all firefighting equipment as per RSC standards and fire licenses.
14. Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
